TO HAVE SUBLIME DREAM

I inherited a heart, pure love for art from my father – painter Tran Tuan Lan, I grew up early in an art environment, when I followed the teachers in children’s painting class in Quang Yen.

Right from the beginning of my painting career, I had loved traditional lacquer because of its difference from other materials, I always have to learn first before drawing, but it does not show right away, the last layer I paint covers all the other layers, after I sharpen it, the picture would gradually show up and the artist would always feel the longing to discover. Other materials can be seen immediately after the artist paints, but lacquer is opposite.

For 20 years, I have considered drawing the worship of mother is a must and the story of my drawing on the topic of Tu Phu started in 1996. One night, I went to the Temple of the King Ba in Quang Yen, I heard the bustling sounds of a Hau Dong session, I was fascinated by the colorful art space. It was strange because I had never seen it, that touched my emotions. At that moment, I thought that I had to draw, paint to satisfy myself, and have to reproduce by my works.
20 years of painting on the subject of Tu Phu with love, passion, absolute belief in this long-standing belief, my works show the portrait and beauty of contemporary bronze, combined with equity …

I want to bring the feeling of an artist living in the present moment to look at the performing arts of Hau Dong, the feelings of an artist about this folk belief. Certainly later, I still want to draw on the topic of religious culture that I have fallen in love with and attached.
