“Art must have thought, if there is no thought, it is just decorative art”
That is the viewpoint of sculptor Ta Quang Bao – who has devoted more than half of his life to sculpture and Vietnamese Fine Art. Exhibition “The Portrait of Artist – Sculptor Ta Quang Bao” is his first solo exhibition exhibiting unique, vitality and creativity sculptures.
In this exhibition, there are many new works with different materials by sculptor Ta Quang Bao. Each work is a separate story. There is a work inspired by intense emotions in the past, there is a work composed when he observed and pondered the real life around him.
Each work has a unique personality but is still united with each other to create Ta Quang Bao’s creative composing styles. It is the image of Vietnamese women who are mild but no less strong and firm. It is the symbolic image for the sudden moments in life. Or is it the romantic touch in the statues filled with passionate love? And also the works bring a deep impression in the hearts of viewers by the layers of meaning hidden deep within it. It can be said that more than 60 exhibits at this exhibition will give us a clear understanding of the ideas, thoughts and aspirations of sculptor Ta Quang Bao in particular, as well as Vietnamese sculpture in general.
