Message of the Lunet

MESSAGE OF THE LUNET

“Can I bring a million roses to you – my art?”

“But perhaps just being in love is not enough, knowing how to confess it is truly Love!”

The exhibition “Local lacquer & Vietnamese chassis” has passed, but the repercussion but still resonates among those who enjoy the “Local lacquer & Vietnamese chassis” collection at Lunet Art Galerie in October 2019, with massage: “The stature of Vietnamese artists and painters really has a position in the world, why not?! And Lacquer painting is an advantage, an intense love which itself has completely convinced the art community beyond national borders.”

With the exhibition “Lacquer painting – Expression and Abstraction” – still collecting artworks on lacquer material – full of feeling, exhibitors will be immersed in a multi-layered color space, be conceived of a “metaphysical” world. The world “metaphysical” but “shaped” and “colored” is very beautiful, but filled with materialistic thoughts. Each work is highly ideological and dialectical, but you will also see the condensation and brevity in the composition. The works are fixed in volatility – the volatility – in other words, it is a reconstruction of the artist’s imagination by lines – supposed to be non-image but reminding of thousands of tangible things. “It is it, it is not it, but it is itself” as Marx said.

In an interview with Painter Truong Be, he said, “Painter, he doesn’t just have abstract thinking, he is also a philosopher.”

In my opinion, perhaps the philosophy in abstract paintings – it is closer, easier to express the artist’s thinking than the picture of a beautiful naked girl under the moonlit night.

“Lines and circles – are not only beautiful but also perfectly and perpetually beautiful” – Plato, an idealist dialectical philosopher, regarded the material world as “conceptual”. Not considering about doctrine, but objectively, simple lines are indeed the most general of perception.

In this exhibition, you will encounter … “conceptual” drawings like that.

If you see and realize that light is harmonious and elusive then in the “Tunnel” of Mr. Chuyen – he made it present – bright – warm – but sharp and glitter – it was the color of a metal – GOLD.

With straight lines, cuts and sharp pieces of light, he showed his sight – his individuality, his personality, which is sharp and cold but warm, because it gives people a space above of work’s surface. A light space is by painter Nguyen Van Chuyen.

Sometimes you will see lava stream – flowing in underground veins, not knowing the ropiness of lava make you think that you are standing somewhere on the earth – or you are flying in a satellite looking down at a volcano ?! It can only be Sediment (work’s title) by Hung (Painter Nguyen Ngoc Hung). He said “I look for the color palette of lacquer, like digging thousands of layers into the ground, not knowing when to arrive. But I believe, I trust as a faith to my color palette. ” Hung’s lacquer is the discovery of intrinsic emotions in the material itself.

Embossed cubes oppose deep cuts, square arrays opposite the circular stroke, zigzag lines contrast with large color arrays, solid shapes overwhelm softness of curves, the softness envelops the toughness. Whether it is a philosophy of strength, sometimes the soft is the power and the stiffness is easily covered by softness. Rhythmic contrasts, graphic layout imbued with the Eastern philosophy of Yin and Yang, distilled symbols showed by red-lacquer – black-lacquer reflect Diep Quy Hai style.

With only gaps, rough features like ancient thoughts, he tells the story of the philosophy of life, the law of reincarnation, the profound combination of dark colors with slender and sharp lines – of him. He created the serenity, he created the color of time spread to the old sediments, the sediments that have left color imprints on the ancient bronze remnants. But somewhere in the dark colors, the tiny and sparkle patches of light, you have to look deeply for a long time to see this subtlety of him – Painter Mai Dac Linh.

Each painter in the exhibition, they all express their own identity, you will find an Eastern spirit in the collection of works “Expression and Abstraction” – a strong and attractive Eastern spirit, not only in the style of painting but also by the material – Lacquer.

During the collection process, Lunet Art also had a lot of emotions, which is when listening to the painters’ concern. When the artist becomes greater, the experience of his creative life will be at a standstill, also struggling, to … love forever is very difficult. The cruelty of art is when one has fully exploited himself, and the artist has to explore to overcome his own threshold that is when he confronted his Art Flame weakening.

The painter always wishes, always ponders to find his own artistic identity. Not everyone can find his own identity, but when he finds it, he has to face himself and confront the limit of that exploration. Sometimes, he is even a slave to his own identity. Looking deep into his mind, the habit scared him, he got stuck. Not every artist can overcome the breakthrough stage – break their own limits that is also the period when the artist was very lonely, struggling, deadlocked and scared. Certainly, there will be nights when he looks at the easel and finds himself hollow.

To overcome, do you dare to face yourself?

Lunet Art sends to the artists a message:

“An artist’s life is always alone, always struggling. The loneliest, the most struggled time is when he explored to overcome himself, faced his successes, found a way to surpass it. But like when the new moon nights pass, a bright moon night – a full moon night will come. It was the bright moon night of art – which no one else – He himself had to step through such new moon nights. Must go on!”

Lunet Art expects the artists have backbone to overcome themselves; Lunet Art wishes that the artists – today, have a desire, a fire to break through on the path of art creation. The painters, please keep your own mind and a strong fire of creation burning in your soul!

“Lunet Art Galerie with a relaxing and peaceful space, take a few minutes to enjoy the beauty of life through artworks.”
